and you, my friend, are given the Midas touch, what is the most expedient thing for you?
Once upon a time, across seven mountains and hills.
In the kingdom of Phrygia, there lived a wealthy king named Midas. He was well-respected by his subjects and lived a life of luxury and abundance.
But despite all his wealth and success, King Midas felt unfulfilled.
You know how it feels to think you have everything and your heart still lurks around for something unseen.
Do you feel like that or do you have a feeling that it sounds weird?
Well, Let's wait till you have money.
Till then. let's examine what happened to King Midas
One day, the god Dionysus appeared before him and offered to grant him a wish. King Midas, driven by his desire for even more wealth, wished for everything he touched to turn to gold.
Now, don't judge him yet, maybe you have to wait till you get to his position
Dionysus granted his wish, and he was overjoyed as he tested his newfound power.
First, he touched the things he wanted to be turned into gold and it was all fun for him.
But as the days went by, he realized that his wish had brought him nothing but misery.
He was unable to eat or drink as everything he touched, including his food and drink, turned to gold.
He was even unable to embrace his beloved daughter as he feared that he would turn her to gold as well. This part is debated in that some narratives of the myth, in that, some narration reveals the real woe on him was that he actually touched his daughter.
However, that is not the bone of contention, you can see the outcome of his decision led him to derision.
Now, we need to note that it isn't bad to have the "to-be-fulfilled" wish of the gods, it is not a bad thing to desire wealth also.
This cautionary tale addresses the part of making a careful and informed decision, taking into accord critical thing skills as you count the cost before you start out to decide and act.
The touch of gold is now regarded as the Midas touch.
and you, my friend, are given the Midas touch...
This time, our Dionysus is the INEC, you are being granted the power to determine the outcome of your future and the collective of how your society will turn out.
However, unlike Midas, don't be swayed by your immediate gratification, think long-term and collectively.
It is time you count the cost of your action, it is time to look out for the effect of the effect of your touch, and it is time you make an analysis of yourself as an important being, in relation to your environmental context.
3 things, I'd say to you as you take your thoughts and make your actions:
Don't ever think that your vote doesn't count, you should leave out simple interest and think of collective-compound interest.
* Also, don't subscribe to the mindset that we are tough people and we will adapt to whatever outcomes, don't cripple your wings to adapt to waters.
* Don't think it doesn't concern you, Yoruba, in one of their ancient Proverbs, translates that the death that killed your kinsman is port on cautiousness for you and must be taken into account.
So, my friend, for this time, till the next 4 years, you're given the Midas touch, something a communist nation doesn't have, don't ruin it.
You win.
